Glycerol is mainly used in the food and pharmaceutical industry. It's used, in the phamaceutical industry, to aide in making lubricants. In the food industry, it's used as a sweetener and a humectant for tobacco and many other products. It can also be used to make nitroglycerin, alkyd resin.
