Glycerol is mainly used in the food and pharmaceutical industry. It's used, in the phamaceutical industry, to aide in making lubricants. In the food industry, it's used as a sweetener and a humectant for tobacco and many other products. It can also be used to make nitroglycerin, alkyd resin.

2.) If Glycerol is burned at low temperatures, crude glycerol may produce acrolein, which is a toxic gas that can cause bronchitis and other respiratory problems.
